Welcome!

I've been thinking about doing this for ages and I've finally got around to it. It's intended to be somewhere for me to record my creative progress, and hopefully have some fun too. I've done loads of different crafts over the years, and pretty much gave away anything I thought was good enough. I consider myself a real "Jack of all trades", I love to have a go at different things but have no specialist skills.

I wanted a picture for the Blog title and suddenly remembered I had kept these embroideries (never framed of course!) I developed a love of ' diy' stumpwork many years ago, after seeing Lalla Ward's wonderful "Countryside Embroidery Book", and used her ideas to build upon.
Recently I've decided I don't have enough time to do the things I really love, and life must change! I took a 7 month career break after 30 years at work, and my other half and I went off travelling, which was amazing, and a real life changing experience. One of the things I really enjoyed was spending time in some wonderful craft shops on NZ and Singapore, where I picked up loads of ideas for my return, and my new life. More of this later....
So, here are some of the things I've been working on lately. I did a day course in both cloth doll making and fabric journals, and here are my first attempts! The doll in the blue dress was made in class, the other is a funky guardian angel made for my friend's baby daughter as a Christening present. I made several journals for Christmas pressies having fallen in love with this beautiful fabric (now sadly sold out!) I'll tell more about my newly developed interest in dolls in another posting......
