Yesterday we had a "late Christmas" family day at my brother's, ate much too much and had a great time. We have two family weddings to look forward to this year, my cousin's daughter and then my eldest niece. Katherine, my niece, was having problems finding a dress, as she has her heart set on something very simple, along regency lines, and this year's styles are much too glamorous or like meringues. So, Auntie Julie managed to sketch out something and she is off to see a local dressmaker who's been recommended to us. I wish my skills were up to it, but I am so useless at "proper sewing".
Katherine has asked me if I'll decorate the cake, which is lovely, and I'm very honoured, but also slightly panicky! I used to do a lot of cakes when she and her sister were young, and did all their birthdays and my friends children' s cakes. I have done a wedding cake twice before, but this is really important as my nieces are so special to me. Ah well, I have a bit of time yet.
Now, I have begun my new stitching project, and as it's going to be made up of different sections I thought it would be fun to post pics as I progress. So this is the first "bit", a leaping hare:
Yeah, lots to look forward to in the new year. Love the stitching project you have underway, can't wait to see part two:) Blessings, Jenna Louise
