It's that time of year again. Lots of Christmas projects everywhere. I needed a plain, contemporary design. So I came up with this, quick and simple, but with a slight twist in the stitching!
I back stitched around the tree and baubles, and outlined the trunk in Portuguese knotted stem stitch. Then I added a some muted colour with dampened watercolour pencils- so the paint would bleed out slightly. My twist (and the fun bit) was to couch a heavier gold thread over the tree in wriggly lines to create the tinsel. A sparkly star at the top finishes it off.
