The Lizzie Bag

Something exciting happened today, and I so want to share with you ! My first pattern is going on sale in a bricks and mortar shop! Some of you will recognise the design, 'cos I've made several, and people seem to really like it. The design was inspired by a handmade bag I was given as a gift many years ago, and as people kept asking me about it at classes, I decided to use the concept to create Lizzie.  She's such a useful little bag and very easy to sew.

Lizzie is named after my niece, as I made her the one on the pattern with a range of tiny sewing accessories when she bought her first sewing machine. There is a secret pocket inside to keep really tiny things safe and secure, and if  necessary, it's fully washable.  I like my designs to be practical!
This is the sample that I made for display.

The main fabric is gorgeous with designs of 'proper' wooden cotton reel labels (Aaah...remember them?)
The lining fabric is rather lovely too!

My pattern! (Which I also made as a PDF- I'm so proud!)

Thanks for letting me share my excitement! Hope you're all having a great week.x

22/32012 Update: I just heard that the patterns sold out in 2 days, and she didn't even market the bag, the sample was just sitting on the fabric cutting table waiting to be displayed etc! I have to deliver more on Tuesday.  Thank you all so much for your lovely and supportive comments. This has really made my week!
