On a clear day.....

You can see forever..... well, maybe not quite that far, but at last, today, the snow, hail and rain disappeared for a bit and we managed to get out to the woods. Leigh Woods, to be exact, which are the opposite side of the River Avon. I wasn't quite quick enough to catch any wildlife shots today, I almost got a wonderful picture of a great tit - almost, those little birds are fast!!

I can't take credit for the final photo, Andy managed to take that with no special lenses/functions. I was very impressed!

So before we go for our walk, here's a quick resume of the week!
I was so glad to have had a peaceful day today, we have had problems with our boiler this week and spent most of Wednesday and Thursday trying to sort it out. The new housing has had to be removed until it's repaired, so we had the kitchen people here and the plumbing people here and probably about 20 interested bystanders off the street! Ah well, these things are sent to try us, I have tried hard to be calm and serene - I have, honestly!

Lots of happy things have happened this week though, and I do feel so lucky that over the last few weeks I have met several more kindred spirits, some through OWOH, and others who have just appeared magically. I'm so delighted to have met you all, you all know who you are!

The owl bracelet for my friend arrived from Joanne May, together with two of her beautiful postcards - and one was one for me, thank you so much, Jo! I was due to see my friend this weekend , but we have had to take a rain check due to my domestic issues, so you will have to wait a little longer before I can show how fabulous the bracelet is.

And I would just like to say a very special thank you to my new friend Jasmine from Nature's Whispers, for including me in her special post this week, I felt very honoured to be mentioned amongst a number of really talented and creative people.

I've managed to get a bit more done for the new embroidery ( I finally managed to get some snowdrops in!) I should be ready to begin putting it all together very soon.
I have also had an idea for a new doll, at last, and thanks to my lovely friend and amazing doll maker Sandy for her help and advice. I will probably be calling on her for more soon, as I want to begin working on it this weekend, alongside doing my OCA assignment. Hmmm, I think I will have to get up very early.......

Now, let me take you on a magical walk through the early Spring woodland landscape....

Entering the woods, the wind rustled and blew the leaves at our feet - and we noticed this lovely carving: "Stones moved silently across the world"

There are several natural sculptures hidden along the various woodland paths, but we'd never seen this one before. It was almost as if it had appeared by magic?

Then I saw this wonderfully vibrant lichen on a tree boll, the colours were amazing. I wondered if the fairies like mint choc chip ice cream?

From the top of the hill there was a wonderful view over the western city outskirts.

Then we turned inwards and found this lonely sentinel guarding the way before us.

But he seemed kindly, and allowed us to pass along the path; which was festooned with golden catkins almost glinting in the unexpected evening sunshine.

And as we looked up, the setting rays of the sun seemed almost like a star, shining through the branches.
Have a wonderful week!

Thanks so much for taking me along for this beautiful walk through the woods. I rarely do that here because of all the icky bugs and things that bite! hee, hee, hee.
Hope all the boiler issues have been resolved. What a pain it is to deal with things like that.

  9. Ooooo, I so miss walking in the woods! We used to do that when we lived in our previous residence. Now we kinda live in the woods, but we're too afraid of ticks to walk in them! Haha - go figure!

Thank you for taking me along on your walk. Those faeries probably do like mint choc-chip!

BTW, thank you so much for all your kind comments during The Heart Your Art Campaign. I truly appreciate it!
