Hexie T shirt re-vamp!

I've been playing around with some lovely fabrics, 'Happy Go Lucky' by Moda,  for a new design. When I went out to collect my washing from the line yesterday,  I  breathed in the lovely sunshiny,  windy smell - and then looked down to  see  the huge stain on one of my favourite t shirt tops had still not come out, after my repeated attempts to  remove it.  Sadly, I put it  down on a chair next to my sewing unit,  ready to pack in the recycling bag. Then I suddenly realised  how the colours of the hexies sang out against the brown fabric!

I decided to cover up my stain -  nothing ventured, nothing gained! So, I sorted out the hexie which looked best, and appliqued it to the top with my new Superior threads - (which are fantastic by the way.) Then I added a little curvy chain stitch stem free hand.  It wasn't intentional, but it does look like the letter 'J' for Jules. The top looks really nice on - but I couldn't manage to  take a photo of myself.

When himself got home,  he said, 'You look smart'!

Serendipity,  I  think, plus I feel like I have a brand new t shirt!x

  5. Great save for your shirt! I love the "J". Nice job with your stitching on t-shirt fabric, it can be tricky!
