Well, I have finally finished my latest doll, and did she give me some trouble! She started out being rather glitzy but then when I'd painted her face she announced she was Lady Isabella de Montfort, and would I kindly remember that please!
So I had to do a big rethink on all the fabrics and techniques I had planned and create a rather haughty and glamorous court lady instead. I did enjoy doing her face especially the eyes and false eyelashes, and I've learnt lots of lessons of things not to do next time.
However, I have got my own back on Isabella, she has a naughty secret...... Under that posh exterior, she's a bit of a wild child and is going to the ball in her stockings and a garter with no shoes on! My other half pointed out that she might slip on the ballroom floor, but I think she'd probably take them off and boogie on down!
I'm glad I got her finished as I need to concentrate on getting my doll ready for the Alice in Wonderland swap, and it has to be in the post by 31st March. I've also signed up to do Sharonb's Encrusted Crazy Quilting at Joggles. Just downloaded the first lesson. I'm looking forward to it, but I won't have time to do anything this week as I'm away with work again. Never mind, I will get the time back at least.
It's been a beautiful day today, sunny and spring like at last, so we went for a walk by the sea. What a joy, roll on more nice weather!

Lady Isabella is fantastic! What a beautiful doll. Her face is wonderful and I can just imagine her telling you her name. Funny!
